BIO:

Octavio was introduced to the entertainment industry at the age of 16 after being discovered by a modeling scout at the local shopping mall. At first, he was not interested in a career in modeling. He wanted to be a professional dancer. After several weeks, he finally agreed to meet the talent scout with his mother and would only sign with the agency if they represented him as a dancer & a model.

During his high school years, Octavio was traveling to Los Angeles for selective jobs on the weekends. His first national exposure would be dancing on a late night dance show called "The Party Machine" hosted by Nia Peeples, showing after the infamous Arsenio Hall Show.

After graduating high school, Octavio relocated to Hollywood California to pursue his dream of modeling and dancing. He relocated and resided with a friend from high school that recently moved to the city. The living quarters became over-crowded and soon he decided to leave and be on his own, which left him homeless.

He found himself living in West Hollywood park surviving off popcorn and steamed rice. His pride would not allow him to worry his family back home so he never called for money nor informed them about his situation.

During this time, Octavio became a weekend regular at a night club called "Studio One" across the street from the park. One night at Studio One, Octavio met a lesbian named Jennifer who befriended him on the dance floor. After hanging out together, she learned that he was homeless and offered him shelter at her home. She not only gave him a place to live but helped him get employment. Jennifer's girlfriend was the manager at The Gap in the Beverly Center.

With lots of persistence, dedication and hard work, Octavio was soon gracing the pages of fashion magazines, appearing in commercials and dancing in various music videos.

Within a year, Octavio was making his mark in Hollywood. His unique look and captive personality was receiving casting requests from major casting directors. Octavio would soon land a leading role for a new Saturday morning television show. A few months before shooting began, Warner Bros pulled the project.

It would be at a private industry party at Prince's Glam Slam in downtown L.A that Octavio would meet someone that would change his life forever.

Octavio was befriended by legendary DJ Richard "Humpty" Vission of the techno trio "The Movement". Richard saw something special in Octavio and invited him to be the creative director for a new club in Hollywood called "The Dome".

Octavio invited all his GLBT peers and hired Drag queens and Club Kids to perform. He created the dance troop "The Excalibur Dancers", and with the help of a fashion designer friend, the costumes were made of futuristic metal hardware. Octavio and the troop where known for wearing g-strings made out of dog chains and costumes inspired from couture designer Theirry Muglar. It was unlike anything Los Angeles has ever seen.

Octavio became a well known club personality in Southern California after Richard took him under his wing. Every club was booking Octavio as a personality to make special appearences at their clubs and often was a guest on Power106 with Legendary DJ David Morales. Octavio was in demand and had a large fan base in the club scene which lead him to be signed to the Creative Artist Agency, which is one of the most prestiages talent agencies in Hollywood.

The house club scene embraced Octavio and soon found himself dancing backup for various House music singers such as Lina Santiago, Laura Martinez & Planet Soul to just name a few. It took one house diva named "Miranda" who at the time had a #1 house anthem across the country called "Your Love Is So Divine" that took Octavio to a new level in his career.

While on tour in San Francisco, Miranda's management had fired her makeup artist hours before she was to take the stage. In a last minute way of trouble shooting, Octavio, who also has a art background, stepped to the plate and did Miranda's makeup. The record label representatives were amazed at how good she looked and hired him to be her official makeup artist.

Within two years, Octavio went from being homeless to one of California's most influential personalities.

Octavio started to get bored with modeling and dancing and was looking for new challenges. He met a celebrity makeup artist at a party through a mutual friend. Since doing Miranda's makeup on tour, he found a new hidden talent. The makeup artist Octavio met took him under his wing as his assistant and taught him the art of being a true professional makeup artist.

Within a few months, Octavio found himself in a hectic situation. It was Grammy night and the makeup team was booked to do Faith Evans, Monica and Brownstone. Faith Evans was running late so they had to figure out a way to fit her into the schedule with out interrupting the other clients. The only way to accommodate Faith was if they split up and work solo. This would be a major challenge for Octavio since he never worked on such high profile artist, but it had to be done.

Octavio had Monica and the other makeup artist went to do Faith Evans. He was nervous but successfully pulled off the task with flying colors. Monica looked incredible and was very pleased. It was at that moment when he knew that this was his passion. Octavio had such a natural talent as a makeup artist that he was soon being requested to be makeup artist for TOP Celebrities and the rest is history.

Octavio continued to model for selective jobs, but found a new interest and was getting a lot of work as a celebrity makeup artist. He didn’t have an agent, but yet was able to book high profile celebrities.

By working full time as a makeup artist to the stars, Octavio eventually retired from modeling and dancing, and relocated to New York City. He worked with many diverse celebrities from the Queen of rap, Lil Kim, to the Princess Of Rock, Kelly Osbourne. He has a long list of high profile clientele and has worked along with some of today’s hottest entertainers and fashion designers which include P-Diddy, Eve, Mase, Mariah Carey, Blu Cantrel, The Roots, Spike Lee, Juelz Santana, Usher, Tweet, Miss Universe, Brandy & Monica to name just a few.

The tragic events on September 11th were the beginning of dark clouds that would overwhelm Octavio for days to come.

A few months later, the Aalliyah plane crash took the life of the makeup artist that took Octavio under his wing. But it wasn’t until the loss of his life partner Chad to an act of violence that would take Octavio down a spiral of depression. He became isolated from his friends and work. The loss started to make him look at his own life in a different light. He realized that he needed to spend more time with his family and all his nephews and nieces.

Octavio made the decision to relocate back to Los Angeles to be closer to family and to work more within the community and not as much in the entertainment industry. He was very selective with the jobs he took on as a makeup artist, but spent all of his time working as a Youth Advocate in Hollywood for homeless teens, teens with drug abuse and domestic violence victims. He began to develop himself into a positive leader in his community. He wanted to show that you can overcome the obstacles of being homeless because he was once there himself.

During this pivotal moment, Octavio realized that this was what he had been missing in his life...it wasnt the jet setting lifestyle that made him happy...it was the warm countless smiles from the youth that he was reaching out to. He was finally found peace with himself and was strongly dedicated to being a caregiver for his community.

In May of 2009 Octavio recently relocated to Las Vegas Nevada after landing a makeup job for a high profile glamourous
Las Vegas Show and recently signed a exclusive contract with a prestiges management firm that now represents him. Although Octavio is back on top of his game in the Entertainment Industry his heart and soul remains with the community that he now represents with great passion.

Octavio has overcome many challenges in his life and continues to strive for success both within himself and in his humanitarian work. He is a strong advocate that you create your own destiny and you should never be ashamed of who you are. "Its not where you come from it is where you are.”

Octavio continues to work as a makeup artist but concentrates on working within the community with the youth throughout the country. An active member in HIV Prevention & Awareness, Youth Drug & Sexual abuse within the community, he continues to be a positive role model for all that crosses his path.

Octavio remains as real and down to earth just as the days when he was homeless and never once forgetting how it all began.
